Zoltán Tóth continues in a new format as a founding member of Republic
A special concert in the Felvidék (Upper Hungary / southern Slovakia) marked the launch of the renewed lineup of the band, which from now on continues its activity under the name Tóth Zoltán – REPUBLIC (1990–2013). The new era represents not only a name change but also a musical and community renewal, while remaining faithful to the classic values of Republic.
An important milestone in the band’s history is that András Szabó “Bundás,” the former violinist of Republic, has officially joined as a permanent member. His return further strengthens the musical continuity that is especially valuable for fans.
The debut concert took place on June 27, 2026, in Felvidék, at the cult-like pilgrimage of Saint Ladislaus in Debrőd near Košice. The performance was not only an uplifting experience for the band: the large audience and their enthusiastic reception showed that the legacy of Republic songs is still alive and meaningful today.
The aim of the new formation is to continue beyond the “Kék és Narancssárga” (Blue and Orange) era, to faithfully carry forward the spirit of the band, while reaching audiences with fresh energy and renewed momentum.
“Let’s hear each other!” says Zoltán Tóth, founding member of the original Republic, for whom this new chapter represents both a return and a step forward.
